A presentation from our two students who have recently returned from the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards week of activities.


Congratulations to Tom Davies and Kathryn Egerton who have successfully completed the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards 5 day course held in Arthog, mid wales from Sunday 22nd August to Friday 27th August.  Tom is from Wrexham and is now at Yale sixth Form College, having previously been at Rhosnesni High School. Kathryn is from Ellemere and is currently a sixth former at the Maelor School, Penley.

Tom and Kathryn came along to the club's Rotary meeting at the Ramda Plaza on 30th September to receive their certificates and gave an excellent comprehensive illustated report of the wide range of activities in which they participated on the week's course.

Supported by the District Passport Club and Welsh Lottery, the Club worked with children of Alexandra CP School in Wrexham to plant up 30 pots with bright summer bedding for distribution the elderly and vulnerable.

Eye Camp in NW Bangladesh.

Along with the Rotary Club of Dhaka club member Rtn Dr Graham Authurs helped to setup a number of eyes care units in Bangladesh to undertake Cataract Surgery

The Coop sponsored Community Garden at Victoria school  April 2018

Coop Garden at Victoria School in Spring 2018. Rotn Alun Morgan in discussion with Head Teacher Debbie Eccles and the infants Teacher. The Coop award of £2000 last year aided the school to create an outside enclosed garden for the younger children.

Our Club was awarded the RIBI National Community Cup for maintaining the gardens at the Cancer Care unit at Wrexham Maelor Hospital . The gardens offer patients an area of tranquil respite during their treatment at the unit .

Superdrug are recycling the foils from all types of medication and the Club has been collecting for the last six months.

Nurses  assisting in setting up the breast cancer screening program

Rtn Graham Arthurs along with the Rotary Club of Dhaka spearheaded a trial program in Bangladesh to set up a breast cancer screening facility .

Since 2003 our volunteers have looked after the Shooting Star gardens at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital.

Since 2003 members of the Rotary club have cared for the two Courtyard gardens in the Shooting Star Unit at the Wrexham Maelor Hospital. Recent replanting has helped to keep the gardens is top condition for the pleasure of the patients in the unit .
