BISHOP'S STORTFORD MEANS BUSINESS
"Bishop's Stortford Means Business" Exhibition is in its 7th year in the town and has become an acknowledged showcase for local businesses, industries and services. 60 Stands were taken up in two Exhibition Halls, with ancillary talks and seminars on various related topics being held in conference rooms in the Rhodes Centre throughout the day.
Bishop's Stortford Rotarians visited the Exhibition in 2008, were impressed with what we saw and decided to join in and take a stand in 2009.
We were interested to note that we were readily accepted by the other exhibitors as an organisation of influence in the Community, or a 'stakeholder' as modern parlance may have it. One of the essentials of the Exhibition is to provide a networking forum for local business people and in that respect we are very satisfied with our day's work.
Our display featured Membership, Purple Pinkie and the sale of our own CD of Christmas Carols sung by choirs from local schools. We also had a constantly rolling Powerpoint display about our work, including images and a short video which demonstrated to our visitors that we are up with technology and marketing in this respect we were better prepared than many other exhibitors !
Specific results are hard to pin point at this stage. 'Marketing' is all about building stronger external relationships and, in that respect we believe that we increased public awareness of what.
