Hawick's team of Gus Neilson, Ron Smith, Ron Sutherland and Jim Walker returned victorious from Langholm on Sunday afternoon having won the Plate Competition in the District 1020 Quiz Finals. The Plate is the follow-up competition for those Clubs knocked out in the first round of main Trophy.
However all Clubs taking part in the Finals on Sunday - whether the Cup Competiton or the Plate - were set the very same questions and our team took particular satisfaction in having the highest overall score, with a margin to spare!
Teams were present from Braids, Dunbar, Cumbernauld, Esk Valley, North Berwick (the Cup Competition winners), Dumfries, Dumfries Devorguilla, Leith, Langholm, Linlithgow Grange, South Queensferry along with several others, District 1020 taking in the south of Scotland and the Lothians.
