Schools' Nature and Environment Programme

A summary of our environmental work with schools.

Eager youngsters engaged in pond-dipping with the River Stour Trust

Sudbury Rotary Club has developed an extensive Schools’ Nature and Environment Programme, which sets out to inform and empower children on the wonders of the environment especially in this area of Suffolk that is so abundant with nature right on the doorstep, but that is so often under appreciated or used.

  • The programme also aims to prepare childrem as tomorrow’s custodians by teaching them the importance of taking care of the natural world. It is hoped they will not only enjoy and appreciate their surroundings but be keen to take care of it as they grow up and into adult life.

We would like to thank Suffolk Wildlife Trust, The River Stour Trust, Sudbury Common Lands Charity (pictured) and Daws Hall Nature Reserve for their help and support for the programme.

We have recently begun to work with individual primary schools by providing funding and support for projects specific to the schools - find out more via the links below.
