24 June 2014. Sarah Snell of the MS Merlin Centre at Hewas Water, spoke to the Club about the work the Centre does for sufferers of multiple sclerosis, the only Centre of its kind in Cornwall. The Rotary Club of Helston-Lizard had raised money at their Charity Beer Festival last year and were able to make a donation of £1000 to the MS Merlin Centre.

11 June 2014. KidsOut is a charity that takes disadvantaged kids on exciting days out, and Rotary members play a vital role in ensuring these events are a success. The annual West Cornwall event was held at Flambards, Helston in June for youngsters of Nancealverne and Curnow Schools. Arranged this year by the Rotary Club of Camborne, members of other West Cornwall Clubs attended to lend their support. President Elect Edwin Lawrance and Rotarian Derek Crowe attended to represent the club.
7 June 2014. President's Night was held at the Merchants Manor, Falmouth. During the evening, President Ivor Mann presented a well-earned Paul Harris Fellowship to Rtn. Tony Smart in recognition of all the work he had done for Rotary, such as PR, and ShelterBox, over many years.

7 January 2014. At our first meeting of the New Year, the Club were pleased to welcome two new members. Rtn. Bob Calleja transferred from the Rotary Club of Bath and Rtn. Chris Andrews joined, introduced by Rtn Steve Ford.

17 December 2013. Club Christmas Party. Merchants Manor, Falmouth. 7:30 for 8pm.
14 December 2013. The annual Old Folks Christmas Party was held at the Helston Community Centre, The Old Cattle Market. As usual, Porthleven Town Band provided excellent Christmas entertainment for around 50 guests.

8 December 2013: Traditional Christmas Lunch (proceeds for twinning). A delicious 3-course turkey lunch (tomato soup, roll, turkey breast with usual trimmings, Christmas pudding and choice of sweets, coffee) organised by Roy and Julia Treloar, ably suported by Robin Carr at Breage Village Hall. Helston Christmas Lights, 2013. The Rotary Club ran a stall in Helston on Thursday 29 November, when the Xmas Lights were switched on, to inform people of the sort of activities Rotary is involved in.

13 November 2013. In response to the disaster in the Philippines, Club members collected for ShelterBox in Helston. Tesco kindly permitted us to collect there for five days and we were allocated a day at Sainsbury's on Monday 18 Nov. Together with a collection at the Johnny Cowling event above, well over £7,000 was raised for the ShelterBox Philippines Typhoon Haiyan Emergency Appeal.

18 October 2013. The Quiz and Chilli Evening, at Breage Social Club raised over £75 towards our twinning fund, thanks to the efforts of Roy Treloar and Robin Carr.
20 October 2013. Members enjoyed the Rotary Club of Helston Karting Challenge at St Erth. This year we won!
13 October 2013. Over two sessions, Club members planted over 1,000 daffodil bulbs around Helston Boating Lake.
