We recently made three deserving people Honorary Members of our club. Dan Putty, Mayor of Basingstoke and Deane; Deputy Mayor Colin Phillimore and past member and enthusiastic community volunteer, Annette Meredith.

Every year we run an exchange with a Rotary Club in our Twin Town of Braine L'Alleud where we stay in each other's houses, visit places of interest and generally have a wonderful time. This year we were in Basingstoke!

At the end of the last school year we worked with Cranbourne School to promote our Rotary shoebox scheme. Here we see Past President David Knights, Laura Preston and student Bhaswati Murali, Cranbourne's Deputy Head Students and Head of Community.

We collected 857 boxes this year which are now on their way to deserving children in Ukraine, Moldova, Romania and Montenegro.

Member, Alan Gibson recently presented local businessman, Mark Lane with a Paul Harris award. Mark has been a long term supporter of Rotary events.

One of our best ever concert with the Band of His Majesty's Royal Marines and the Chelsea Pensioners.

We all loved the visit to Wellington and Dummer Riding for the Disabled. Excited children, beautiful horses and some bacon rolls - what's not to love?
