Brigg's 47th Charter Anniversary

Brigg Rotary Club held its 47th Birthday Party (Charter) at Hemswell Court on Sunday, 5th March 2017. This splendid event was attended by 85 Rotarians and guests in the attractive surroundings of Hemswell Court on a rather wet day which did nothing to dampen the enthusiasm of this excellent birthday party.

President Ambrose Fowler reflected on an excellent year of service to the community and how much he was enjoying being President with such a strong team of Rotarians in support.

President Elect, Julie Whitelock, detailed the many practical ways the club had supported the various project, the money raised and given to good causes and the work still to come as we run towards the end of the Rotary year in June.

Now that the club has handed over the title of ‘Best Club in District 1270’ to Market Rasen, Brigg can work towards becoming the ‘Best Club in District 1040’.

Following the splendid meal Sean Sparling entertained those assembled with stories and magic before the highlight of the day when Rotarian Julie Whitelock was presented with Rotary’s most prestigious award the Paul Harris Fellowship for service to the community above and beyond the normal activities of fellow Rotarians in leading many exceptional service projects.
