In 2013, PCSO Natalie Phillips had become aware of a problem while patrolling when she spotted a man who had collapsed. Working alongside paramedics until the air ambulance arrived, Natalie noticed the officer on the radio telling them to find the nearest defibrillator. It was later that Natalie discovered, as she thought, this equipment was not available in her area and she needed to do what she could to save another life.
Natalie contacted the Rotary Club of Lostwithiel to see if members would help to raise funds for a defibrillator in Lostwithiel. The club was keen to work alongside Natalie and the Community Committee, chaired by Graham Holland, was asked to take the project forward and to involve the club in efforts to raise the
