A little while ago, someone suggested that we ought to hold a talent competition as part of Carnival week. That idea has developed and advice has been taken from professional entertainment specialists. Our initial thoughts were that we would hold this event as part of the Street Party evening; however, we think the competition will be too well supported to conclude on one evening. Therefore, we shall have a knockout competition on the Charity Fayre Sunday at the King George V playing field.
There will be three categories:
- 8 years and under
- 9 to 12 years
- 13 to 18 years
(ages apply on Sunday 11th July 2010 and proof of age may be required).
There will be prizes and entries will be restricted to the town and its surrounding villages.
The Lostwithiel's Got Talent Final will be staged on Thursday 15th July 2010 in the Parade as part of the Street Party evening. Entry forms will be available from Penhaligon's Newsagency from 1st June 2010 and we thank Mike and John for their continuing support. Alternatively, download your entry form here, but all completed forms must be returned to Penhaligon's by Sunday 4th July 2010 at 12:00 noon.
Whilst realising the effort that some young people are likely to make, we feel it would be tragic if either day would be rained off. With this in mind, we have booked the Community Centre as cover for both days. Full details will be on the entry forms and the July Lostwithiel Newsletter will give any final arrangements not covered so far.
The event will be managed in conjunction with the professional agencies of CB Productions of Bodmin and Kernow Entertainments of Falmouth. Judges will be neutral and will include singer-songwriter and pianist Peter Skellern.
