The Rotary Club of Barry was formed in 1937 and is still going strong today! We have 20 members, welcoming our first lady into the Club in 2009. We meet at 6 for 6.30 PM on Thursdays at the Glenbrook Inn in Barry. We would be very pleased to see you at a meeting!
We are involved in many activities supporting the young and old of the town, and send help overseas in time of need. At home we currently run Young Chef and Youth Speaks competitions between the schools in town, sponsor students for the Rotary Youth Leadership Award, support Young Carers, run Kid's Out, and organise senior's out events such as a tour of Cardiff Bay. Abroad we have a long history of sending Aquaboxes and Shelterboxes when disaster strikes.
Our major fundraising activity is the Fireworks night, November 5th, on Barry Island, which we have been running for 42 years! Other fundraising activities include a Duck Race, St David's Day Breakfast, and Laughter Lunch.
We also believe in having fun, with events such as quizzes, car treasure hunts, and an annual barbecue.
Please see our Facebook page (via the badge on the right) for recent activity. And if you would like to join us, click the light blue button above "Meeting Information" and send an Email to the secretary.
