Rotary International is a voluntary organisation for men and women – it is non-political, non-sectarian and open to all who want to improve the quality of life in their communities and beyond – and have fun doing it.
There are 1.2 million Rotarians in 33, 000 clubs around the world – they come from many different backgrounds and cultures, many religions and none, but they all maintain high ethical standards and are united in the desire to give something back to their communities and do some good in the world.
And Rotary is very much a friendship organisation – you make friends and have an active social life as well.
Wetherby Wharfedale Club meets Monday evenings twice a month – sometimes with a speaker, sometimes to discuss our programme of events and projects and set up new ones. In between times, we have social and fund-raising activities to have fun and help others.
Rotary is a great organisation to belong to – we have so much to do – but we need more people to help us. Becoming a member will open new doors for you, but if you aren’t sure, why not become a Friend of Rotary? Email firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more.
