DUCK RACE – FUN FOR ALL THE FAMILY
ROTARY GOES QUACKERS
We are pleased to announce a fund-raising event which should be fun for all the family. The Rotary Club has planned a Duck Race to take place in the Kilmarnock Water within the boundaries of the Howard Park on Sunday afternoon, 12th September 2010.

This exciting event is intended to help raise funds for a variety of Rotary Charities which can be both local and world-wide. Also, there will be prizes for the sponsors of the winning ducks – 1st Prize is £100; 2nd Prize is £50 and 3rd Prize is £25. Runners-up will also receive a variety of other prizes.
There will be a stand which explains the work of Rotary and this will have a Shelter Box on display. Shelter Boxes are used on a grand scale in areas of major disasters and are frequently seen in news coverage where temporary tented villages are set up. (See current flooding disaster in Pakistan)
Other local clubs and interest groups will also be present. Watch this space and your local Kilmarnock Standard for further details.
