In particular he explained how they funded the Saddleworth Community Hydro Scheme, and he gave details of the new Oldham Community Power scheme for solar panels on schools and community buildings.

Wed 20th July 2016 Friends of Jubilee Colliery by Peter Lax and Gary BrainPeter and Gary gave an informative talk on the former Jubilee Colliery, and mining in the surrounding area, over the years. They explained some mining practices and showed some equipment used by miners.
Wed 13th July 2016 Groundwork by Robert GlennRobert gave an interesting talk on Groundwork in Oldham and Rochdale. They are based in Higginshaw and carry out a range of environmental projects including the Prince's Trust Team Programme for 16-18 year olds.
Wed 6th July 2016 Induction of President David HoltNew President David Holt was inducted by Past President Derek Cottrell at the Club lunchtime meeting. Derek commented upon the events of the past year and David thanked Derek for stepping in so successfully as President at the last minute last year.
