This is a national event for disabled and disadvantaged school age children, to give them a free day of fun and happiness. The Club sponsors pupils from Wilson Stuart School in Erdington on the outing to Drayton Manor Park. A good time was had by all!

Thanks to Rotarians and SCTFC Academy students for their help, 16 teams from 12 schools, their teachers and supporters. Boldmere again triumphed in a tense final eventually overcoming New Oscott 2-0.

What an interesting morning we had exploring the charity’s headquarters in Shirley, Grab Bag packing and writing get well cards. We were pleased to be able to make a donation towards Troop Aid’s work supporting our injured troops. www.troopaid.info

Our bunnies hopped along to Asda, Minworth yesterday and raised £378.27 from generous members of the public. Thank you to everyone who supported and the team at Asda for allowing us to collect. Happy Easter.

Thank you to everyone who supported this event and especially the very talented people who made the puddings. The afternoon raised £420 for our President’s chosen charity, The George Coller Memorial Fund, supporting children affected by asthma.

The 7 Pools Run is a 10KM cross country run around the seven pools in Sutton Park and is held in March every year. All the funds raised are donated to The Norman Laud Association. The Club is invited to supply marshals.

This event was organised by Namdhari Sikh Sangat, Birmingham at the Namdhari Gurdwara, Birmingham. Some of our members spent a most enjoyable evening helping to pack 95 food hampers for vulnerable people in Birmingham.

After a fish and chips supper Colin Cartwright gave an interesting presentation about Aquabox. The raffle raised enough to buy an Aquabox. Great fun at the beetle drive, too!

Now in its 21st year, the Club hosted on behalf of District 1060. 220 pupils took part from 16 schools in 30 teams. Thanks to Nigel Macrow at Aston Villa, Jo James, Community Champion, Tesco, New Oscott and our Inner Wheel colleagues.

The Club recently funded new beds for the Sea Cadets at their training facility in Sutton Park. We were delighted to receive this ‘thank you’ photo from them.

Following the devastation from Hurricane Irma the Club has arranged a special collection to raise funds for ShelterBox, the charity that is providing emergency shelter and tools for families affected by the disaster. www.shelterbox.org

Paul Evans was accompanied by Steve Davies, an expert on period tailoring who covered the uniform production aspect of the hobby. They brought with them the usual exhibits including some inert guns.

What a fun evening 25 of us had ambling around the centre of Sutton Coldfield finding a few Big Sleuth bears and other items of local interest along the way. It was great to be joined by our Inner Wheel colleagues and family members.

This scheme provides holidays for young people who would otherwise never enjoy a holiday break to help them re-charge their energies and enjoy a change of scenery. The Club is working with Homestart in Erdington.

A fine start for our President's charity, George Coller Memorial Fund, for children with asthma. £175 was raised, which will buy for a couple of inhaler analyzers to measure how effectively young children are using their inhalers. www.georgecoller.co.uk
